By Alexandria Living Magazine Staff

An online Blue Virginia poll shows a competitive race for mayor between current City of Alexandria Mayor Allison Silberberg and Vice Mayor Justin Wilson.

As of mid-day Tuesday, Wilson led the Blue Virginia poll with 53.7 percent of the vote. Nearly 1,000 people had voted.

Mo Seifeldein and John T. Chapman had the most support for City Council positions, followed by Dak Hardwick, Elizabeth Bennett-Parker and Willie Bailey. There are 12 City Council candidates in the running this spring for six elected positions.

The Democratic primary is set for June 12.

There are two debates scheduled ahead of that primary. At 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, the Del Ray Business Association will host a debate at the Mount Vernon Community School auditorium at 2601 Commonwealth Ave.

The second debate is hosted by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce at 6 p.m. Monday, May 14 at T.C. Williams High School auditorium at 3330 King St.
